Product Review: Kose Sekkisei Herbal Esthetic Mask

Dear My Lovely Friends

Just to update you that during Chinese New Year, I met an accident and my car was knocked. So, I was without transport for almost 3 weeks now. I had to take a bus and two trains to work. Yesterday, I got back my car and to my dismay, they did not fixed it properly. The alarm system went berserk and my central locking cannot be used. The light that was cracked was not replaced and there are some other ptoblems. I have to go back to the shop for at least 2 times. I felt quite discouraged but I prayed and ask God to help my situation. Now I felt a bit better and would like to share with you a mask which I tried and finished few weeks ago. Sorry for the ranting. I hope you understand the dissapointment after waiting for 3 weeks and still have to continue waiting.

OK back to the mask.
I got this mask during December 2010. It was a generous 30g sample given by Kose. I redeemed it using a birthday coupon from Parkson One Utama.

Texture
This mask is very creamy but it is not oily. It is supposed to be a purifying mask and I must say that it has done a good job. My oily skin loves this mask a lot. I shall hunt this mask during the Kose warehouse sale this year.

Scent
The smell of the mask is super nice, not a perfume type of smell but rather smell of herbs. According to the sales assistant, it is made from herbs and I do believe her.

How to use
I only use a small amount (3 cherry size - scoop out using a spatula) for the whole face. Spread the mask evenly and wait for 2 mins and wash it off. It's super easy to use. It is very easy to wash off too. When the mask is washed off, I can feel that my skin is very clean but not tight. I love this mask a lot but I have finished it already.

If I remember correctly the price is RM180 for 150ml. (Please correct me if my memory fails)

My rating for this mask is 4.5/5

Has any of you tried this mask before? Do share.

Estee Lauder New Cyberwhite Brilliant Cells

Dear Friends

If you are looking for whitening products to solve your skin concerns, I have a good news for you. Estee Lauder will be launching the New Cyberwhite Brilliant Cells end February 2011 (in Malaysia).

For those who are living in Klang Valley, Malaysia , you can join Estee Lauder for “A TIME TO BRIGHTEN” on:

Date: 26 February 2011 (Sat)
Time: 11am – 2pm
Venue: KLCC Centrecourt

Just bring any whitening product from any brand to exchange for a CyberWhite Brilliant Cells deluxe-sized sample.  Limited to the 1st 1,000 early birds.

Although my skin concern is not on dark spots at the moment, I am quite excited when I read that the New Cyberwhite Brilliant Cells has a comprehensive full spectrum anti-spot technologies that is specially designed for Asian skin to address 4 types of dark spots:

1. Barely Visible Spots - it is beneath the surface but it casts an uneven hue across the skin

2. Small Surface Spots - dull spots on the skin resulting from melanin build-up in and around pore openings

3. Stubborn Age Spots - deeper, darker and larger spots that can form over decades of time caused by degradation of skin's support structure in specific areas. As this support structure collapses over time, it may allow for any excess amount of melanin to cluster, forming large areas of discoloration.

4. Recurring Spots - A specific type of spot that seems to always come back in the same place.

According to Estee Lauder scientists, 4 key factors that contribute to the dullness and discoloration that can eclipse the natural luminousity of Asian skin are:

1. Dehydration
2. Uneven skin texture
3. Disorganized collagen
4. Poor microcirculation

The New Cyberwhite Brilliant Cells are formulated with the following key ingredients/technologies to address the 4 key factors mentioned above:

a) Melanin Interception Technology
b) N Acetyl Glucosamine
c) Clarity Recovering Protein
d) third generation Melanin Dissolving Technology
e) Anti-irritant Calming Complex
f) Kudzu Root Extract
g) a potent Anti-irritant Ferment

Recently, I had the priviledge to attend the New Cyberwhite Brilliant Cells workshop and had the chance to try out the products.

For me, the star product is the Cyberwhite Brilliant Cells Full Spectrum Brightening Essence (30ml RM350). This serum has a pleasant scent and absorbs easily into the skin. It can also be used together with liquid foundation as shown below. However, this method is only suitable if your foundation has full coverage. Else, the pigment will be too diluted and cannot provide enough coverage.

The makeup artist is mixing the serum with the Estee Lauder Cyberwhite Advanced Brightening GelCreme Makeup SPF 21 PA+ (RM155) foundation in 06 Warm Cream

This is how I look using the Estee Lauder Cyberwhite Advanced Brightening GelCreme Makeup in 06 Warm Cream
I must say that the liquid foundation has a reasonable oil control properties as my face does not look oily after 3 hours. This foundation if applied correctly can create a dewy look. Normal to dry skin person will love this foundation.

For more details on the products, I suggest that you visit the Estee Lauder counter nearest to you to try out the products and feel the texture of the products for yourself.

Also, don't forget to go to KLCC Centrecourt this sat 26 Feb. (Refer the details above).
Do let me know if you manage to get the deluxe sample.

Happy trying!

Product Review: Lancome Hydra Zen Nuit Neurocalm Night Cream

A while ago, I have written a review on the Lancome Hydra Zen Neuro Calm Gel Essence. It is a hydrating serum that I like a lot.

Today, I will talk about the Lancome Hydra Zen Nuit Neurocalm Night Cream. This is also a tier gift that I received when I purchased the Lancome UV Expert Neuroshield sunblock which I have finished using some time ago.

After trying this cream for 2 times, I handed it to mom.
Here is mom's feedback:
1. The cream has a nice scent
2. Very moisturising

I also love the scent and texture of the product. It is not oily and not too creamy. You may be curious why I did not continue using this product. The reason is I think mom needs it more than me.
Have you tried this night cream before? Please share with me your favourite night cream.

By the way, this year my mission is to finish all the sample size products before I make any new purchase. Will I be successful in this? I will report to you when I remember...ha...ha...

Thanks for viewing.

Product Review: Origins Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Facial Cleanser

Dear Readers

I will be sharing about the Origins Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Facial Cleanser that I purchased during Christmas in 2009.

This is a creamy cleanser and it has a mushroomy smell. I am not a fan of the smell. It is very creamy and does not have any foam.

I have tried this cleanser and I don't quite like it because it leaves a film on the skin. (Note: I have oily skin)
I think that this cleanser will be great for those with very dry or mature skin. This cleanser will not take away any sebum on the skin surface but it will keep it moist and hydrated.

I only used this cleanser once and hand it to my mom who has finished it long ago. However, when I asked her for her feedback, she said that she does not feel that her skin is thoroughly clean. This is probably due to its "oily" finish.

Anyway, I would still recommend this product to people with dry skin / mature skin.

Has anyone tried this cleanser before?
To all my readers, happy Valentines's day!

Product Review: Origins Modern Fusion Skin Transforming Catalyst

I was told by the sales assistant that starting February 2011, the price of Origins product will be revised. This is bad news coz I used some of their products.

Anyway, I received this sample some time ago. Here is my short review.

What the product promises:
This serum contains Rice Refinishing complex to restore radiance to the skin. Used regularly, dullness, roughness, brown spots, finely etched lines and signs of sun damage appear to disappear. Luminosity, clarity and a radiant youthful appearance return.

What do I think about this product?
I love the texture of this serum, it is whitish and has a creamy but runny texture. It has a pleasant natural scent. It absorbs easily. My skin feels smooth after each application.

Rating for Scent:4/5
Rating for Product Texture:4.5/5
Rating for Product Packaging: 3/5
Rating for Product Effectiveness/Coverage: I am not able to tell as I am using a sample sized product
Price: 30ml at RM180 (before price revision)
Will I purchase: yes

Have you tried this? What brand of serum are you currently using? Thanks for sharing.

Product Review: H2O Raspberry Guava Shower Gel

I have finished using this H2O Raspberry Guava Showel Gel and it's time for me to do a review.
I have taken the pictures before I use up the tube. I bought this shower gel during their warehouse sales in 2010. This is the first time I tried H2O product and I love this shower gel to bits.

Can you see the small pearls? They can be crushed and a sweet scent will be released.
What I love most is the sweet scent that lingers on your body for a while after you bathe. I love to crush the small pearls as they will release a sweet smell.

This shower gel is moisturising enough for me. I will definitely hunt this down if they have a warehouse sales this year.

My rating : 5/5

Have you tried this shower gel before?

Thanks for sharing.

Product Review: Origins Lip Balm

Dear Friends

I have finished using this Origins lip balm which I received as a free gift when I purchased the Origins Christmas Skincare set back in 2009. I received 2 colors and finished this one during Dec 2010. This picture was taken before I finished using it.

I have many lip balms and this is one of my favorites. However, I don't see this product at the counter. So, I think it is just a special edition product for the Christmas season. Anyone of you know whether it is available at the counter?

You cannot really see the color. It has a slight shimmery pearl

In my opinion, this lip balm serves the purpose of moisturising my lips. It is not sticky and has a nice flavour. I love it. I use it several times a day in the office. As I wipe off my lip balm before I eat, I reapply many times in a day.

My Rating:

Rating for Flavour/Scent: 4/5
Rating for Product Texture:4.5/5
Rating for Product Packaging: 4/5
Rating for Product Effectiveness: 4/5
Price: unavailable

What brand of lip balm are you using now? Thanks for sharing.
