Aftermath of an encounter with Robbers

Hi friends

This is not a beauty related post but an update of what happened to me on Monday 26 March 2012 at 7.10pm at my apartment carpark area.

I lived in an ungated property and I became the victim of a robbery when I came back from work on that day. It was still very bright and I was not alert of a motorbike with 2 guy that looked like Malay/Indonesian, one fat and one thin. I was walking towards my unit and the thin one ran towards me and pulled my handbag. I put up a fight and shouted but finally the evil man won and ran away with my bag and everything in it. I was bruised as I fell on the floor. My hair was pulled and I was beaten up by the heartless animal. The neighbours came out after the incident (which is nothing unusual)

The first thing I did was to report to the bank to block all my cards. (Fortunately my housemate was in). My house key and car key was gone. My handphone was gone too.

I asked a few friends to pray that my bag would be returned by a kind person. And God is really good, on the next day a fireman called my office and I got my beloved bag returned. The kind Malay man, Yusri found my bag at Taman Jaya park. He went for his morning exercise with his children. God bless you Yusri.

Although there is nothing much left, I was thankful that I got back the following items:
1. Driving licence
2. My shopping card
3. My medical card
4. My YSL lipstick
5. My house key (despite that I had my locks replaced)

The cleaner found my car key while sweeping the floor. So, I got back my car key too. God bless you too Mr Mani.

I could not sleep for almost a week. I was very disturbed and angry at the 2 animals. When my friend asked me what nationality they are, I simply say they are "xxxx xxx xxx*". (I do not like to use swear words but I was too angry). My body is still aching now but my heart is really hurt. The animals ruined my Radley handbag that was less than a year old and my phone that was equally new. My total loss is about RM1500.

I am bruised

My Radley Bag torn apart

See my lovely Radley bag that cost RM600 - it's useless now

Malaysia is a very dangerous place to live, I concluded. (This is my 2nd encounter with robbers)

The police even laughed at me when I showed him my wounds. Can u imagine?

I am still thinking how not to carry a handbag. Do you carry a handbag? How do you spread out your belongings so that you will not lost everything if this untoward incident happen?

Despite the incident that had happened, I still have to be brave and continue living as though nothing had happened. Please pray for me.

Thanks

Nail Art: Lav 027 Newspaper Print Nail Art

Hi people!

I hope you had a fruitful weekend. Today, I'll be sharing with you a newspaper nail art that I have attempted a while ago. It was not very successful as I do not have rubbing alcohol - the main ingredient. I replaced it with apple cider vinegar instead. As a result I not only transferred the newsprint onto my nails, the newspaper fibre was transferred along. Therefore, my newspaper nail art is a bit messy. Anyway, as it was my first attempt, I think it can be considered as fair.

If you are interested to try, here are the steps:

1. paint base coat
2. paint color coat 2x (choose a greyish off-white color)
3. when the color is dry, soak your nail into the rubbing alcohol for a few seconds
4. take a small piece of newspaper and press on your nail. gently remove the newspaper after 30 to 40 seconds
5. paint top coat

Have fun trying and report to me if you have tried this before.

Product Review: Loreal Perfect Clean

Do you have oily skin like me? Do you have congested skin?
If you do, fret not. I have something to recommend to you.
I got this Loreal Perfect Clean Gel Wash as part of the goodie bag when I attended an event by a lovely blogger.

The special thing about this gel wash is that it has a special scrublet that is very soft. It is gentle and gives my skin a good scrub each time I use. I recommend that you used it once a week. They have a few formula which you can check out in the local pharmacy.

The super soft and gentle scrublet!
I don;t find anything special with the cleanser but I think the scrublet is very good. With consistent use and regular application of mask, the scrublet can help to remove one or two of my stubborn blackheads.

Rating for the scrublet: 5/5

Have you tried this product before? Please share your view.

Thanks and have a lovely day!

Nail Art: Lav 026: You are My Sunshine - Easter Nail Art Design 2012

Now is the Lent season. Soon it will be Good Friday (the day Christ is crucified) and Easter Sunday (The day Christ was resurrected).

The traditional purpose of Lent is the penitential preparation of the believer—through prayer, penance, repentance, almsgiving, and self-denial. Its institutional purpose is heightened in the annual commemoration of Holy Week, marking the Death and Resurrection of Jesus, which recalls the events of the Passion of Christ on Good Friday, which then culminates in the celebration on Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. (information obtained from Wikipedia)

I used my KOH nail polish that I won from a giveaway. This colour is called Breath Deeply 250.
It is a greyish offwhite color that is perfect for newspaper nail art. I shall show you how to do newspaper nail art some other time.

I named this nail art "You are my Sunshine" to describe the resurrected Jesus Christ as the sunshine of my life. He has been my source of strength and hope throughout these years. Life is hard but God is good!
I used a different color for the thumb

KOH nail polish - Breath Deeply 250

Items used - acrylic paint 3 colours, nail art brush and nail doting tool

Do you like this nail art design? It's actually inspired by Rina of SimplyRins. She is a very talented nail art guru. You can visit her and see the video on how to do the sunflower nail art. Her drawing is perfect. I still have a lot to catch up.

See ya. Have a lovely day! If you want to see my other nail art design, please click here.

Product Review: RMK Gel Scrub

Sometime ago, I have reviewed the cleansing milk by RMK. RMK is a Japanese skincare and cosmetic brand founded by Rumiko.

I have purchased 2 deluxe size of the RMK scrub from a friend. I have finished one and I am into my second tube.

Product Description
The gentle exfoliating properties come from a citrus mix extract and 4 diferrent types of scrubs : crushed aloe, peach seed, chamomile flower and soft scrub. each ahs a unique texture, which when combined, gently dissolves sebum that clog pores and eliminates roughness. While exfoliating, other ingredients including kiwi & yeast extracts prenetrate into your skin, leaving a  long-lasting hydrated sensation. Refreshing scent of lemon, lime & herbs.

Ingredients
Yeast extract (moisturising), Citrus mix extract (skin softening), Kiwi fruit extract (moisturising), aloe extract (moisturising)

Application Method
Massage gently with circular motion. For deeper absorption, leave on your skin for 1 - 3 mins. Rinse with cole or lukewarm water. Use 2 to 3 times a week in place of your everyday cleanser.

My Review
  1. The scrub has very fine granules
  2. It smells like kiwi fruit
  3. Not drying to the skin but have moisturizing effect
I do not have any dislike, perhaps the price is quite steep.
