Kerastase Initialiste - Advanced Scalp and Hair Concentrate

Dear Readers

How have you been? I hope all of you are in the pink of health. I just recovered from flu. Today, I will be sharing with you about a new hair serum - Kerastase Initialiste Advance Scalp and Hair Concentrate.

A few weeks ago, I was invited by Kerastase to a pampering session at Razor Edge Salon at One Utama.

Initialiste is the first hair and scalp serum to impulse the growth of stronger, more brilliant, more beautiful hair at its source.

In 2000, Dr. Bruno Bernard and L’Oréal’s Advanced Research teams have discovered the crucial role of stem cell micro-environment in maintaining their high regenerative potential (a keratinocyte stem can give life to 1023 new cells). Protecting and maintaining stem cells and their environment is one of L’Oréal
Advanced Research’s main priorities.

Where are hair stem cells found?
1. On the top part of the hair follicle under the sebaceous gland near the skin surface
2. Below the hair follicle, around the hair bulb

Native Plant Cells, the Foundation of a Revolutionary Technology

The native plant cells of the Malus Domestica, an ancient rare variety of apple is used to formulate the Initialiste. With this extract, l’Oréal is tapping into the “reservoirs of life” that can be used to help grow more beautiful, stronger hair.
What is the function of Initialiste:

In simple layman's term, I conclude the following:
Initialiste provides the hair follicle stem cells with the optimum environment for growth and regeneration.

My experience using Kerastase Initialiste:
1. The bottle has a droplet dispenser - it is advisable to use 4 pumps for the whole scalp.
2. The liquid is whitish in colour and has a very refreshing apple scent
3. It is not oily.
4. Upon massaging the serum onto my scalp, it has a slight tingling sensation which is very refreshing

I have not been very diligent in using this serum as I ought to. Therefore, I am not able to comment on the benefit as yet.

I would like to thank Kerastase for the warm reception at the salon. I truely enjoyed the pampering session.

Have a lovely day!

Product Review: Oslee Rosehip BB Cream, C-Shape Eye Mask etc

Dear Readers

I am sure you are familiar with Oslee. No? It is available at Guardian pharmacy in case you're not aware.

A few weeks ago, I was sent some samples of Oslee products to try. I will be reviewing those that I like best.

The first one is the Rosehip BB Cream

What I like about the BB cream?
The texture is non-oily and it applies effortlessly. It provides very sheer coverage but good enough for me as I don't like a heavy coverage. It controls oil quite well and my skin stays semi-matte until lunch time. It is easy to blend and has SPF 26 PA++. I rate it 4/5.

Price: 50ml for RM79.88

The second product is the C-Shape eye mask.

This mask is very unique because of the shape. It can cover the eye and part of the cheek area. After using it, the skin is hydrated and soft. I rate it 3.5/5.

Price 5pcs for RM68.90

Finally, the Oslee Hydra Medi serum and Young Medi (moituriser)

The serum has a super light transparent texture, almost like water. It absorbs fast into the skin. In terms of hydration, I think it is suitable for day use. I give it a 3.5/5

The Young Medi moisturiser however has a creamy but non-oily texture. It is suitable for night use. My skin loves it. I give it a 4/5.

Have you tried the products before?

Product Review: La Roche-Posay Ultra Light Suncreen Athelios 60

Dear Readers

I am not sure whether you are familiar with this brand. I got this La Roche-Posay Ultra Light Suncreen Athelios 60 from SkincareRx. I have used up 80% of the product and am ready to share with you my views from the perspective of an oily skinned individual.

If I were to rate this product, I would give it 3.8/5.

The texture is very watery which I like but the smell is somewhat not to my liking. So far most of the sunblock/suncreen that I have tried have some wierd smell, possibly from the active ingredients.

This product applies easily with a slight white cast but would soon disappear within 3-4 mins. The product is non-oily. Only a small amount is required for face and neck. It is suitable for use during your swimming session especially for your Island trip because it is Water-resistant.

The product is made in France and it is tested on sensitive skin.

In terms of oil control,I would give it 3/5. This product gives a semi-matte finish for oily skin. The packaging states that it is for normal to combination skin, which explains the oil control part. However, I am sure it will work fine for normal to combination skin.

The plus point of this La Roche-Posay Ultra Light Suncreen Athelios 60:
  • SPF 60
  • Water-resistant
  • Can be applied under make-up
  • fast absorbing
  • has broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection (with CELL-OX Shield)
  • has powerful anti-oxidant - Cassia/Senna Alata leaf extract (a tropical leaf extract known to defend the skin cells
The active ingredients in this sunscreen:
Avobenzone 3%
Homosalate 15%
Octisalate 5%
Octocrylene 5%
Oxybenzone 6%

Other Ingredients: Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Alcohol Denat., Silica, Dicaprylyl Ether, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Diethylhexyl Syringylidenemalonate, PEG-30 Dipolyhydroxystearate, Dimethicone, Cyclohexasiloxane, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Nylon-12, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Phenoxyethanol, Lauryl PEG/PPG-18/18 Methicone, Sodium Chloride, Caprylyl Glycol, Methylparaben, Poly C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Disodium EDTA, Cassia Alata Leaf Extract, Maltodextrin, Dodecene, Poloxamer 407

Where to buy:
I am not sure where to get it in Malaysia but I saw it in Singapore pharmacy.

Price: 50ml for USD29.99 (which I think is reasonalble for a quality product like this)

Have you tried this sunscreen before? Do share.

The Launch of Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina EDT

Dear Friends

Recently, I attended the launch of Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina EDT at KLCC.

Signorina EDT is the celebration of a chic girl's most joyful facet. The ideal fragrance for a romantic young woman. It is an exceptionally fresh scent signature with the vivaciously cheeky soul of a Signorina. I was very curious about the word "Signorina" and so I asked Mr Google. I learnt from Mr Google that Signorina is a title used to address an Italian speaking unmarried woman, corresponding to a "Miss" in English or a "Mademoiselle" in French. Personally, I find that Signorina is such a beautiful word.

About Signorina Eau de Toilette (EDT)
Signorina EDT is a fragrance inspired by the chic sensation of a rice steam colored by feminine rose notes and fruity tones on a milky woody dry-down.

Juicy Litchi notes and tender tasty Grapefruit Pulp create a natural fruity top.
The heart is a delicate veil of Rice Steam aerial notes and fresh Rose offering their silky texture.
In the dry-down, a smooth and addictive Milk Mousse is shaken by the ambery woody vibrations of Cashmeran.

Olfactory family: Floral Fruity
Perfumers: Sophie Labbe and Juliette Karagueuzoglou

Launch date : April 2013

Retail Price: 30ml - RM190, 50ml - RM 265, 100ml - RM355

I really love the garden ambience that they set up. The atmosphere is like an English garden tea party.

I like the white furniture and the decor especially the way the fragrance bottles were hung. It's beautiful sight to behold.

The roses are beautiful!

The Litchi ice-cream was delicious!

The gorgeous model slipped the ring into the finger of a media representative.

The rose macaroons are absolutely delicious!

I managed to pose with the models!

A lovely picture with fellow bloggers!

Have a lovely day and remember to try Signorina. It's a perfume for every Signorina!

Hi Friends,

Recently, I attended the WeChat launch party at Neverland. It was a blast! There were so many people and so many activities going on at the same time. The MC was very funny. He cracked jokes all the time.

There were a huge crowd at WeChat Launch Party. A photo booth was set up allowing patrons to take instant pictures. It was fun!

The cute cupcakes with WeChat logo. So creative!

The crowd seemed to have unending photo sessions at WeChat backdrop. Such an eye catching backdrop.

The party started with the performance by 2 Chinese artists entertaining the crowd with some popular numbers.

The performance continued with Awi Rafael who stole the scene with his popular songs. His songs were very upbeat. His good showmanship and his interaction with the crowd might have melted some hearts.

A group of dancers performing their creative dance move with the high tempo music. Very entertaining.

There were several sessions of games where the crowd were invited to challenge themselves with some trick questions. Everyone was so eager to win something and almost all the time they blurted "WeChat" as the answer for almost any questions posted by the MC. Hilarious!

The winning team posed with their prizes!

Finally, the lucky draw winner which happened to be my friend! Congrats Juli!

Do visit to download the free application. You can try it out and who knows you might fall in love with it!

Last but not least, WeChat has appointed 2 new ambassadors - Lisa Surihani and Shaheizy Sam. You can watch the TV commercial at
