Cream mask texture with exfoliating grains.

Double action: used as a mask, this product matifies and smoothes skin texture.

My thoughts:

Of all the products, I am particularly in love with the MASQUE PURIFIANT. Why? It’s simply because I only need 5 mins and while removing the mask I can scrub my face at the same time. For the lazy girls out there, there is no excuse to apply this 2 in 1 mask. The smell is also very pleasant and relaxing.

It's August already and I want to share with you about MaskSlim - a place you can get your beauty supplies at affordable prices.

 

Currently, MaskSlim has 2 outlets. One in Sungai Wang Plaza (Lot G126A & G127A) and another one in Berjaya Times Square KL (Lot 3-20).They will be opening a new outlet on 8 Aug 2012 at SS2. It is same row with Maybank.


MaskSlim carries skincare and slimming products from Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong as well as a few favourite local brands. With over 600 products to choose from, I am sure you can find something that suits your skin type. I have yet to visit their outlet but I will pay them a visit soon.

Product Review: Clarins Pure and Radiant Mask with Pink Clay

Hi My Beauty Buddies,

I have not discussed about facial mask lately and I think that it is time for me to share another of my favourite mask. 

I was first introduced to Clarins Pure & Radiant Mask with Pink Clay when I received a 5ml sample to try out. After using the sample, I have fond memories of it, partly because of its lovely sounding ingredient name - "Pink Clay". I remember the mask as Pink Clay mask from then on. When I finished my Origins Out of Trouble 10 min mask, I took the opportunity to grab myself this one as a "replacement". Well, it cannot exactly replace the Origins one ...... read on to find out why.

Being the person who love to own many types of mask, if you followed my review, you would know that I have tried more than 10 types of mask so far and am thinking of getting more. I have to stop myself from buying in case I can't finish them by the expiry date. Enough of rambling, I shall get on with the review.

My Review:

What I like about this mask?

1. It is lightly scented and not overpowering

2. It is easy to apply and easy to wash off with room temperature water

3. It leaves the skin feeling soft, no drying effect

4. Skin feels clean and nice

However, this mask does not help to dry up pimples like the Origins Out of Trouble 10 min mask.

But then again, Clarins did do not claim that it can do the "pimple busting job". I'm just sharing so that you know that even though both are clay masks, they are not the same. So, if you have oily skin but no pimples, you can try this Clarins Pink Clay mask, but if you have pimples and also oily skin, you should consider Origins Out of Trouble mask instead.

Having said that, I am happy that Clarins Pink Clay mask does make my skin feel happy and cleansed after each application. Whenever I feel my skin is a bit congested and need some deep cleansing, I would reach for this mask to do the task and I am so far happy with its result.

The texture is watery, just the way i like it. Not oily at all

After rubbing the gel on my skin. Can you see the small particles of dead cells?

Direction:

Apply on dry skin and massage gently in a circular motion to slough off tiny flakes of dead skin. Continue until gel is almost absorbed. Rinse off with water and follow with Intensive Clarifying Water-Gel. Use daily or at least 3 times a week.

My view:

Of all the 3 products, I like this best because it has a watery texture and removes dead skin very effectively!

Step 2 : INTENSIVE CLARIFYING WATER-GEL

  

After rubbing the product onto my skin, the gel turns into water form as you can see from the pic.

This oil-free product balances skin’s PH and sebum secretion, ensuring oily and dry areas are properly moisturized.

Using an exclusive encapsulation technology, high potency Honoki, together with a cocktail of Hyaluronic Acid and Soy protein, are captured in a gel system and released in a splash of moisture when applied onto the skin, to quickly penetrate the epidermis and exert skin refining and whitening action. With each use, Intensive Clarifying Water-Gel provides up to 6 hours of hydration and instantly quenches dry skin to refresh and return skin to its natural equilibrium. Skin feels hydrated, refreshed, calm and velvet smooth.

Direction:

Apply on the cleansed skin and massage till absorbed. Use twice daily, in the morning and before bed.

Category: Moisturizing Water Gel

My view:

I like this water gel because it is not oily at all and absorbs easily.

However, the pump design is not very good. Sometimes, after several pumps, the products still won't come out. You have to turn the botlle upsidedown and give it a shake before pumping.

Step 3 : ACTIVE WHITENING FACE PAC

 A botanical skin whitening and skin protective complex composed of Peopny Root, White Mulberry, Kudzu and Strawberry Geranium extracts works in synergy with Honoki, exerting enzymatic skin whitening and refining action, while at the same time, protecting against the UV induced degradation of skin collagen and elastin to achieve an anti-ageing effect.

Contains TM Block, a unique Titanium Dioxide complex that protects the skin and fixes skin clarifying pigment onto the epidermis to give the appearance of fairer skin in an instance.

Direction:

Apply on cleansed skin liberally and allow to rest for 15-20 minutes. Cleanse off with water. Skin is instantly fairer and more radiant. Use up to three times a week.

My view:

I do not quite like the face pac as it leaves a white residue on the skin. I had to remove it with a wet face towel after rinsing with water. However, I like the product texture.

The retail price for the 3 steps is RM299 but SHINJYU will be sold on CARI DEALS (http://deals.cari.com.my) starting from the 15^th of December 2011 at a promotional launching price which will be much lower than the retail price, and will be hitting the local beauty stores after the New Year.

Product Review: Skin Food and Etude House Sheet Mask

Dear Readers and friends

Lately I have been quite busy and lazy. Therefore, there is a lack of post. I have been wanting to do a small giveaway but have not decided how the giveaway should be like. It will be a simple one I promise. So stay tune.

Meanwhile, I will do a review on 2 types of sheet masks which I have tried. Personally, I am not a fan of sheet mask. I think that they are less effective than conventional mask in a jar or tube. That's just me. You may not agree with me but that's ok.

Skin Food White Chocolate Mask Sheet (RM8.60 for 20ml)

Product Promise: Mask with cocoa extracts provide elasticity to the skin

Instruction: Leave on face for 10 to 15 mins, massage in any excess liquid

What I like:

1. Smell of chocolate is very comforting and nice

What I dislike:

1. The shape of the mask sheet does not fit my face well. (you can see the pic below)

2. There is not much liquid (maybe the liquid evaporated as I kept the mask for too long about 9 months or so)

Note: The ingredients are in Korean, therefore I can't comment.

I look so funny here. The mask is ill fitting

Etude House Pomegranate Sheet Mask (23ml - price unavailable as I received this free from my other purchase)

Product Promise: Essence mask contains pomegranate additives that nourishes the complexion. Tension fit design for improved facial adhesion and comfort 

Instruction: Leave on face for 20 to 30 mins, recommend to use every 2 to 3 days for maximum efficacy, massage remaining solution into skin

What I like: 

1. The fresh fruity smell

2. contains Ginkgo biloba leaf extract, other roots and leaf extract, squalene

3. contains more liquid

4. The mask sheet has a better fit

What I dislike: contains alcohol and other chemicals like methylparaben

The Etude House mask fits better
