Plusizekitten is Throwing a Pedicure Party at HRH Nail Studio

I am so excited because Tammy of Plusizekitten is throwing a Pedicure Party at HRH Nail Studio this Saturday to celebrate her blog's 3 years birthday this June! Happy 3rd birthday Plusizekitten!

If you don't know Tammy, you have missed out many good shopping deals and beauty workshops. If you are not her follower yet, do visit her blog and follow her. I am sure you will have interesting events to attend from time to time. I am so glad that I followed her blog 2 years ago even before I started my own blog. Tammy is an inspiration to me. Her passion for shopping never fails to excite her followers.

She will be selecting 6 lucky bloggers to join the pedicure party. Since I am a nail enthusiast, I hope she will select me as one of the lucky bloggers. My feet certainly need the extra pampering after a hard week's work. As an amateur nail artist myself, I would be able to appreciate the pampering pedicure and will be able to write an interesting review to feature the service of HRH Nail Studio at Section 17, PJ.

Besides the pedicure, the lucky blogger will also be tasting the special pedicure cookies and cupcakes sponsored by Sidney Kan from www.BigBoysOven.com! I have never tried pedicure cookies before and I am very curious about it. I hope Tammy will give me a chance to savour the pedicure cookies and take some photos of the cookies to show all of you.

Till then, wish me good luck.

Do you have a Plan B?

Hi friends

Since I do not have the inspiration to write a review on products, I will be sharing with you my Plan B experience. For those who are not familiar, Plan B is actually a food outlet in Bangsar Village. I went with a few friends on Sunday for lunch and we ate pasta and burger. I do not really appreciate the decorations in the shop but food wise, here are my thoughts.

My friend ordered cabonara. It is very creamy and cheezy, would recommend this to all cabonara lovers. I am not a fan though.

I ordered this chocolate with marshmellow on top. This is very rich and creamy. RM8. Recommended to all chocolate drink fan

I ordered this spaghetti beef bolognese. It's nice but nothing too special. RM20 below

My friend ordered this beef burger and it is very nice! Thumbs up. Recommend to all beef burger fans
Just to report to you that the Aglio Olio is not very special I would say. (Sorry no photo was taken).
We also saw the breakfast set and they looked yummy, many people ordered that and I think they must be nice. They served breakfast set till late afternoon (about 6pm I think).
Ok. This is today's mini food review. Hope you liked the pictures. I am trying out some makeup and skincare products and will share with you soon when the inspiration comes. Till then, have a lovely Monday!

Nail Art : LAV 017 - Old is Gold

Dear Friends

Recently, I did a simple nail art design to attend a function. I used my nail art pen to paint some flowers that you normally see. I drew an apple on one of the nails, if you can spot it.

Thanks for reading! Let me know what do you think of this nail color. It's actually an old nail polish from Avon. More than 8 years I think. That's the reason for the name of this design : OLD is GOLD.!

Product Review: Avalon Organics Peppermint Bath & Shower Gel

Dear Friends

I bought this Avalon Organics Peppermint bath & shower gel a while ago and it was left sitting on the shelf for quite sometime before I start using it recently.

Nourishing botanicals, gentle cleanses and the invigorating aroma of organically grown Peppermint replenish your skin and revitalize the senses.

Main Ingredients:
peppermint leaf oil, candelula flower and chamomile flower extracts, bisabolol, arganine (amino acid), pro-vitamin B5 and Vitamin E.

Let me share with you why I like this product:
1. First of all it is an organic product with NO parabens, NO synthetic fragrances, NO SLS/SLES or aritificial colors (it is actually colorless).
2. It has a natural fragrance from peppermint oil
3. It is very cooling and refreshing after taking your bath (especially on a hot and sunny day)

Product Rating: 5/5 (for the aroma and refreshing/cooling effect)

This shower gel can really freshen the body up after a hot day. I love to use it on sunny days.

Product Review: RMK Cleansing Milk

Dear Friends,

Today's review is on RMK cleansing milk. I bought this product sometime ago and had since finished it. This photo was captured months ago. I thought I want to share this review as I truly love this product. If it is not for the price tag (RM110 for 175ml), I would repurchase.

Note: RMK product is from Japan. I am not sure if it is available in European countries.

What I love best about RMK Cleansing Milk?
1. The rich citrus smell is so heavenly. I simply cannot resist it. It makes me feel happy and relaxed each time I used this product.
2. The texture of the product is not oily, yet it removes makeup effectively.
3. contains natural ingredients such as milk derivatives, yogurt derivative, honey, lemon extract and carrot extract (Aren't they lovely edible ingredients?)

Product Description:
The yogurt drink-like cleansing milk with a high treatment effect removes makeup, dirt and old keratin, leaving your skin feeling soft and supple while bringing out translucency.

I only use this small amount to cleanse the whole face.

You might wonder, why I only need to use so little product?
My tip to save on your cleansing milk:
Wet your cotton pad with water and squeeze out the excess, dispense the cleansing milk on the damp cotton pad. It worked for me and the products lasted for 3 months plus. I do this for all types of cleansing milk and I find that they worked well.

Product Rating
Scent: 5/5
Effectiveness: 4.5/5

Have you tried this before? If you have the budget, do give this a try.

Thanks for reading. Please visit me again for more reviews and beauty ramblings.....

Confession of a Chocolate-holic

Dear Friends

How have you been doing lately? I have a confession to make. I love chocolates. Any types of chocolates, local or imported, white or dark, with nuts or without nuts, with caramel, with liquor or anything, as long as it is called chocolates.

I eat chocolates almost every day, after lunch or before lunch, tea time or even after dinner. I know it is fattening and bad for health because of the sugar and fat contents but as a chocolate-holic, I can't resist them.

My love for chocolates started at a very young age. As far as I could recall, ever since I was 2 or 3 years old I started eating chocolates. My mom told me that I would open the fridge many times a day to take my supply. According to mom, I would open the fridge and take one small piece and repeat it several times a day, until one fine day the fridge broke down. Till today, I would still do the same on weekends.

Due to my indulgence in chocolates, I need to visit the dentist very frequently when I was young. In fact, I just visited the dentist last 2 weeks and need to visit him again this week as I need to do a root canal.

The following are some chocolates that I have finished eating!

I enjoyed the Patchi chocolates very much. As you can see it contains nuts.

What about you? Do you love chocolates like I do?

Have a sweet chocolatey day!

He started the green movement 20 years ago but at that time, not many people paid attention. Now that the world is facing greater climate change, we start to open our eyes and pay attention.

Product Review: Charles Worthington Time Defy Salon Finish Style Reviving Mousse - Style Your Hair Like A Pro

Dear Friend,

If you followed my blog posts, you would have read about the 3 other great Charles Worthington hair care products that I have tried.

(Please click on the product name to read my review)

I must admit that those 3 products are good but I adore this gem the best. This gem is Charles Worthington's Time Defy Salon Finish Style Reviving Mousse. Ever since I used this product, the curls on my hair came back to life. I had my hair permed about 10 months ago and my hair began to lose its curls. I am very delighted to be introduced to this product. It is a truly amazing product for maintaining natural or “fabricated” curls.

Product Promises?

Gives tired hair fabulous body and bounce without feeling crispy or heavy.
With its unique bounce back technology your hair will maintain the “just styled” look all day long whilst UV filters help protect your hair from UV damage and colour fade.

Ingredients: enriched with sunflower extract and mineral kelp

Why I love this product so much?

1.    It is so easy to apply. You just shake the bottle and squeeze the amount required and apply to your damp hair.
2.    When your hair is dry, it is not hard but gives a soft hold. Your hair will not be crispy or heavy but the curls will stay in place.
3.   This product is not oily or sticky. It has a mild pleasant scent.
4.    You just need less than one minute to style your hair. So for those who are rushing to work in the morning, fret no more, you can wash your hair and apply this mousse and off you leave your house. By the time you reached your office, your hair will be dry and have nice curls.
5.    I can style my hair without using any curlers
6.   The curls on my hair became more defined and my hair looks glossy and healthy!
7.   The product packaging is good. The nozzle delivers just the right amount when you gently pressed it. So, there is no product wastage.(Please refer the picture below)

The quantity in the picture is enough for my hair

Not only did I try this product on myself, I also tried it on my friend who has natural curls. You can see the before and after picture and make you own comparison.

Before
After - curls are more defined

My friend's hair - Before

 After

The mousse survived a mini test. My friend tied her hair and it looked great.

On the next morning, you can see the picture below, her hair is still in order.  No extra mousse is applied on the next day.

So, what more can I say about this mousse to convince you that this is indeed my “holy grail” product. Previously, I have tried using mousse on my hair and I never liked the formula. The mousse which I tried in the past has strong scent and makes my hair crispy and hard. My hair looks unnatural and heavy. I have since then stopped buying mousse.

I must admit that I was initially quite skeptical about this CW hair mousse due to my past experiences of using mousse. However, after using Charles Worthington’s Time Defy Mousse, I have changed my perception about hair mousse. Just look at my picture above and see how pleased I am now that I have a new found “hair savior”.

So, girls with curly hair, do give it a try. Maybe you will start singing praises like me.

Price: RM29.90 for 200ml

Product Review: Charles Worthington Mineral Hair Rescue - Saves your locks from further damage

Dear Readers,

I have been trying out the Charles Worthington Mineral Hair Rescue and would like to share with you my review just in case you may also be interested.

For as long as I could remember I have only tried one or two hair masks in my life time. So, this product is my third encounter with hair mask. I am not a very disciplined person when it comes to hair mask as compared to facial mask.

Well, I have tried this CW Mineral Hair Rescue for several times and here are my thoughts.

Product description:
An intensive treatment for your hair
enriched with natural moisturiser Argan Oil (I have been hearing raves about Argan oil and so I am excited to try this product), marine minerals and conditioning proteins, helps to restore dry and damaged hair, deeply penetrates the hair from root to tip for an intense moisture boost.

How to use Charles Worthington Mineral Hair Rescue?

There are 2 ways to use it. the "long cut" and the "short cut". Obviously I took the short cut way, being lazy.

The first method:
step 1: Squeeze excess water out of freshly washed hair (do not towel dry)
step 2: massage treatment deeply into hair and scalp. Leave for 3 - 5 mins and rinse thoroughly.

The 2nd method:
Step 1: same as above
Step 2: apply mineral hair rescue and wrap hair with warm towel, relax up to 15 mins before rinsing

Despite using the short cut method, I love the results, when I rinsed my hair, I could feel the hair texture becoming smoother and softer. I could feel that the product has absorbed into the hair because when I rinsed my hair I did not see much bubbles residue. This product is quite economical as I only use a small amount for my long hair.

Verdict: hair becomes so smooth, manageable and easy to comb when the hair is still wet (although it is not recommended to comb your hair while it is wet, I had to do so because, after my hair is dry I cannot comb it as I usually apply some styling products)

Rating for scent: 4/5 (This product has a pleasant scent, like salon product smell actually)
Rating for texture: 4.5/5
Rating for result: 4.5/5

The picture may not show well as the lighting was bad. However, you may notice that my hair looks very moisturised and healthy. I just applied the Charles Worthington Frizz Free Serum, that's all. In this picture, no styling product was applied. Therefore, I am quite pleased with the results.

Who would I recommend?
I recommend this product for people with dry hair. Although people with other hair types may also benefit from the indulgence, like me.

Note: I have sensitive scalp and so did not apply on my scalp. Nevertheless, I am very pleased with the results.

Price : RM29.90 for 150ml, available at all Watsons store

Thanks for reading and have a pleasant week ahead!
